The Proper Way Of Building Muscles}

Submitted by: Sharon Campbell

If women are vain about their looks, who said that men are not? Men are also conscious of how they look. If women are so obsessed about beautifying themselves, men are obsessed with having a great body with great abs. They believe that with great bodies, they can attract more women. So they hit the gym and overwork themselves to the point of hurting themselves.

Pain is a part of training. But there are pains and aches that are telling you there is something wrong with what you are doing. Here are some of them:

1. If you feel a sudden pain in the neck or head, stop for a while. This could happen when you are squatting and lifting heavy weights. This could mean a muscle seizure or an overloaded blood vessel. Drop the weights immediately and check your posture. Your neck and shoulder muscles must be relaxed or you could strain them really bad.

2. If you feel a sudden sharp and targeted pain in the back while lifting weights, get immediate help. This is not something that you can ignore as this can be a slipped disc or you might have pinched a nerve. This requires medical attention immediately so the doctor can assess the degree of the damage. Never lift anything for now as it might leave a permanent damage.

3. If you feel pain on your ankle whenever there is impact, better listen to your body. Do not ignore this sign as this could mean that you have a sprained ankle or a strained ligament. If this is the case, you need to rest in order to recover. If you keep ignoring the pain, it could get worse.

If you are someone who needs to build muscles, then choose an exercise program that is intended for building muscles. If you desire to be on the leaner side, there is also a specific program for that. You must follow the program in order for it to be effective.

However, achieving a great bod is not only about exercise. It is also important that you watch what you eat. There are certain foods that you need to eat more than others. One thing that you should remember when building muscles is that lean muscle mass need to be kept in shape by maintaining a positive nitrogen balance.

Nitrogen can be found in amino acids, the building blocks of protein. Therefore, all high protein rich foods are rich in nitrogen. All other food sources cannot compare to the amount of nitrogen high protein rich foods have. When you supply your body with enough good quality protein, your muscles can continually repair and grow by themselves.

Foods that are high in protein content are liver, fish, kidneys, eggs, fowl, beef, milk, cheese, yogurt, nuts, beans, peas and some grains most especially barley. But do not have a diet of purely protein. You need to balance it with fresh vegetables that are lightly steamed or raw. Never cook them to retain the nutrients.

To achieve this goal, one must be discipline enough or everything will be in vain.
