One wearable device, many uses!
Intelisoles are a revolutionary wearable device technology coming to the medical, sports performance and gaming markets. The Intelisoles are comprised of a very thin insole which syncs with your favorite smart device (iOS, Android) to provide foot pressure, location, acceleration, and much more. This proprietary system has an endless amount of applications including running, cycling, golfing, skiing and virtually every activity where foot pressure and balance are important.
Although they have endless applications from the medical market to the gaming industry they will mainly be targeted towards the sports industry to help sports enthusiasts with:

This single device can monitor and collect data of virtually any movement pattern and foot force, regardless of the sport or activity. All real time data is instantly gathered, assessed and wirelessly sent to your smartphone, allowing you to analyse your movements right there on the spot in the palm of your hand.
Equipping the Intelisoles are quick and easy. Simply insert the thin insole to your everyday athletic shoe and pair the Intelisoles with your favorite smartphone or tablet. Next you select the sport you are engaging in and you are ready to assess your movements or provide biofeedback. Currently there are Applications for running/jogging, cycling, golfing and and open fitness mode which can be used for walking, hiking, or in the gym to assess, monitor and provide real time feedback on squats, lunges, box jumps or whatever lower body exercise you can think of. Once the Intelisoles are synched with your smart device the user will get instant real time data in a user friendly interface, providing visual and audible feedback on pressure distribution, foot acceleration, distance, speed and more.
Providing this feedback for the user allows them to analyze their movement patterns and will enable them to increase their performance capabilities on the spot. Basically the Intelisoles can act as a virtual trainer, movement analysis lab, and motivational coach in one simple user friendly system.
The possibilities of improvement are endless.
In addition to the sports industry the Intelisoles are perfectly suited for the gaming industry. With the advent of the Wii Platform and the Xbox Connect gaming has moved from sitting on the couch to moving about the room while the console reads body movement to enhance the gaming experience.
However, Intelisoles takes this concept to another level. While the Xbox Connect and PlayStation Move attempt to use body movement to control the game the systems are very sporadic, not always picking up the users body movements. The Intelisoles are as reliable as a gaming control so now when you play a skateboarding game you can perform a trick just as you would if your were on the board. Or jump and dodge oncoming danger as you play your favorite action adventure game.
The Intelisoles even have the potential to be paired with VR goggles such as the Occulus Rift. This exemplifies the involvement in the gaming world and takes VR to the next level, completely immersing the individual into the game.
The Intelisoles also have endless applications in the medical markets. Currently balance assessment devices are very big and expensive, and gait assessment requires very specialized treadmills with embedded force platforms and/or motion capture camera systems which can cost upwards for $20k to over $100k. Due to their simplistic nature and portability the Intelisoles have the ability to replace both balance systems and gait systems with one simple yet effective system that is a fraction of the cost. This will enable clinicians to assess and monitor patients with motor impairments, such as individuals who are at risk for falling such as seniors citizens, to people with Parkinsons or Spinal Cord damage.
In addition, since the Intelisoles have the ability to provide audible and visual feedback patients can be provided with real time feedback giving them cues on unwanted movement patterns, or by providing motivation/ For example a patient can get motivational feedback on desired gait patterns from a display monitor. Or by giving feedback to athletes that have undergone knee surgery and need feedback on proper and balanced movement patterns.
A few other applicable markets in the medical industry are patient monitoring in Hospitals, Home Care and Senior Living Facilities. For use in lower body amputees who need to learn how to walk again. To provide Podiatrists and Orthotists with information on orthotics and braces for people who suffer from foot ailments such as drop foot, low arches and Peripheral Neuropathy.
